Who's leading the session?
Bethel Nathan is a San Diego, California based wedding officiant, business coach, and industry speaker. Combining her background working for both large corporations and small companies – including nine years working for large investment banks around the globe – along with her passion, skillset, and strong support for marriage equality, she launched Ceremonies by Bethel in 2009. In these first ten years, Bethel focused not only on being great at what she did for her couples, but also on knowing her ideal client, developing relationships locally to support her and her business, and finding the right marketing tools and methods to attract her ideal client, as well as the right systems and processes to best service them. As a result, Bethel found the right way to build a successful and award-winning business that fit her – and has now married just shy of 900 couples. Plus she now enjoys helping others in the wedding industry to do the same as a business coach and industry speaker.
Who can join the session?
This session is open to Celebrants Collective Members and non-members alike. If you’re not a member you can use this page to sign-up for the live session.
How does it work?
Once you’re signed up, you’ll be sent a registration link to register for the online session. On the day of the session, you will use the link to join the session. You can connect via your desktop, laptop, tablet or phone.
Once the session starts you will see the speaker and Natasha on the screen (don’t worry you won’t be seen!) and after a brief introduction, Natasha will hand over to the expert. The speaker will start her presentation and you’ll be given the opportunity to ask questions via the chat box at various points of the presentation. It’s that simple!
The session is scheduled to last 1.5 hours. If you need to leave at any point, no worries, you’ll be able to catch up with the replay later on.
What if I can't make the live session?
Don’t worry if you can’t make the live session, register anyway to have access to the replay link, so that you’ll be able to watch it when you can, at your leisure. The link will also stay active, so you’ll be able to return to it at anytime. You can even forward us a question in advance, if you’d like us to ask it on your behalf.

Using his extensive background in theatre, ‘The Complete Celebrant Handbook,’ author Han Hills leads an engaging session on how to bring theatre to our ceremonies. His presentation draws on the correlation between theatre and ceremony and how having an understanding of the basic tenets of theatre, can really help maximise ceremony production from scripting right through to ‘character’ roles and positioning and the set up of the ceremony ‘stage.’
